Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I book a session or consultation?
Booking is simple! You can fill out our contact form, call us directly at (437) 421-2256 (CALM), or email us at info@CalmNexus.com.
  • Is virtual therapy available?
Yes, we offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions to accommodate your preference and needs.
  • How do I know which service is right for me?
Choosing the right service can feel overwhelming, but we're here to help. During our free 15-minute consultation, we take the time to understand your unique needs, answer your questions, and provide thoughtful guidance on the services that may be the best fit for you. Your well-being is our priority.
  • What can I expect during my first session?
During your first session at Calm Nexus, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where your comfort is our priority. Your therapist will take time to get to know you, discuss your concerns, and explore your goals for therapy. This session is a chance for you to share at your own pace. There’s no pressure to dive deeper than you’re ready for. Together, you and your therapist will begin to develop a plan tailored to your needs, ensuring you feel supported and understood as you start this journey toward your well-being.
  • Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy or other services?
No, you don’t need a diagnosis to start therapy or access other services at Calm Nexus. Many of our clients come to us simply looking for support, personal growth, or guidance through challenges they’re facing. Whether you have a diagnosis or are just starting to explore your needs, we’re here to meet you where you are and provide compassionate, personalized care.
  • Is there a waiting period to start therapy?
At Calm Nexus, we prioritize timely care and aim to schedule new clients seeking Psychotherapy within two weeks of their consultation. Wait times may vary depending on the service and availability, but we offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs. Contact us to learn more about current availability.
  • What types of service does Calm Nexus offer?
We provide psychotherapy, body-doubling sessions, accountability coaching, support groups, workshops, and more, tailored to ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, and personal growth. Please refer to the Services page or contact us for more details.
  • What age groups do you work with?
Our therapists at Calm Nexus provide services for a wide range of age groups, including children (6+), adolescents, and adults.
  • What should I prepare for my first session?
It’s helpful to think about your goals and any specific challenges you’d like to discuss. If applicable, you can bring any relevant medical or psychological records that you would like your therapist to be informed about, but this is not mandatory.
  • Are your services covered by insurance?
Coverage depends on your insurance provider and plan. We recommend contacting your insurance company directly to confirm your benefits. Here are some helpful questions to ask: Does my plan cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario? What is the annual coverage amount or session limit? Does my insurance plan cover the full session fee or only a portion of it? Is there a cap? When do my benefits renew? Do I need a referral from a doctor to use my mental health benefits? Please note that we do not bill insurance companies directly. Clients are responsible for paying for their sessions, and we will provide detailed receipts for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Policy Details: 24-Hour Notice Requirement: We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer that time slot to other clients who may need support. Late Cancellations: If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours' notice, the full session fee will be charged. Why This Policy Exists: Our therapists and coaches dedicate their time to support you and your journey. When an appointment is booked, they allocate that time specifically for your care, preparing in advance to offer the highest quality service. Short-notice cancellations and no-shows prevent us from filling that time slot, impacting both the professional's schedule and other clients who could benefit from that time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our policy, which helps us maintain the highest standard of care and availability for all our clients.
  • Are there follow-up services or ongoing support after therapy ends?
Yes, individuals can book follow-up sessions, attend workshops, and join group meetings to maintain progress and receive continued support as needed. Clients can also access periodic check-ins and accountability coaching.

Step into a space of safety, connection, and understanding.
